President’s Message – Expressing Gratitude

Dear fellow members,

On behalf of the ISACA Saint Louis board I would like to express our sincere gratitude to you, our members, for your exceptional support through these challenging times.

I am excited to share that our now award-nominated chapter has experienced overwhelming success throughout the pandemic, growing membership, registrations, and event attendance to record levels.

Our collective efforts on CommunITy Day raised nearly $3,000 to support OneInTech and their mission to build a healthy digital world that is safe, secure and accessible for all.  A special thank you to our previous board president Crystal Dees for her original idea and to our previous board secretary Karey Barker for successfully leading CommunITy Day for us once again.  Our chapter has been recognized for our initiative with a nomination as Most Innovative Chapterthe first time our chapter has been nominated for such an honor.

Despite the pandemic and our pivot to exclusively offering virtual only events, I am pleased to inform you that event registrations increased 25% and event attendance increased 98% over the same period last year.

Membership increased 20% year over year and is at the highest level in our chapter’s 50+ year history.  I am quite excited to see our chapter nearing the Very Large Chapter threshold (800 members), which will make the Saint Louis Chapter one of the world’s largest.

Finally, please join me in thanking our all-volunteer board, whose time and dedication to our chapter and to you, our members, has been instrumental as we navigate these challenging times together.

Best wishes and good health to you and yours,

Adam M. Sommer
